You may have caught last week's post on dressing up the dining room table. Back then, I had yet to find the perfect placemats for the black and white polka-dot/transparent hobnail tablescape. I'm not 100% positive these placemats would act as the perfect pairing with polka dots yet, but there is no denying that these ostrich feather placemats would be anything but glamorous next to clear hobnail dinner plates...
Fortuitously, Lonny Magazine (yet another reference to the spirited online shelter mag!) featured L.A.-based caterer Lulu Powers in its latest issue. Her gorgeous pink, black and white table turned me on to the ostrich feather idea.

And for the snow angel inside us this time of year, fashion designers have made feathers functional. Alexander McQueen captivates with a stunning gold feather coat, while Givency and ADAM adorn our lower bodies with perfectly placed plumes.
My wardrobe has yet to find a place for our fine feathered friends but perhaps there's a spot for them on my table this year. As for the feathered coat? Maybe next year...
