Pantone
The weather outside is most definitely frightful, but Pantone has a little something to warm us up and keep us energized! Last week, Pantone introduced its 2011 Color of the Year- the playful, daring and bright Honeysuckle!
Pantone
Although Honeysuckle has been deemed the 2011 Color of the Year, this vivacious color brings a new energy now, popping against autumnal browns and winter whites. Yet it will stand out beautifully next to golden skin and metallic jewelry come spring. Fashion designers, such as Nanette Lepore and Peter Som, have even released their own sketches featuring flirtatious designs in the bold color. To pack a punch at home or when you're getting dressed, try out a honeysuckled-hued bag or napkins.

In order to determine the Color of the Year, Pantone executives survey the fashion and design scene each year and choose the most prevalant colors. From there, the judges select one shade that stands out among all the rest. Other colors for Spring 2011 women's fashion included Russet, Coral Rose, Lavendar, Regatta and Beeswax. Check them out here for more information and inspiration!
But just in case you're wondering what to wear now, keep in mind that Turquoise remains this year's Color of the Year. Top picks for fall and winter specifically include Woodbine, Lipstick Red, Oyster Gray and Purple Orchid.

So if you need a little lift out of your winter doldrums, look no further than your favorite color swatches. It may not help the mercury rise, but your spirits certainly will!
