Emerson Fry knows what real girls want to wear. Based in New Hampshire, all of Emerson Fry's products are made right here in the U.S.A. Their aesthetic is clean and classic with the knowledge that their customers will reach for their pieces for seasons and years to come. You won't come across any nonsensical trends here. Emerson Fry is a go-to source for modern, high quality basics.

What better time to get back to basics than fall? Sure, it's fun to have a summer fling with bohemian maxi dresses and rustic denim cutoffs. But fall sees the rebirth of my cable knit sweaters I've had since college (if they still fit!) and broken in favorite pairs of boots. Should your basics be a bit threadbare, then look no further than the Emerson Fry site. This season offers a focus on layering familiar favorites. I am particularly drawn to the sweater + dress + leggings + boots combo as seen in the third picture above. I am pretty sure this outfit could take me anywhere and I'd look perfectly appropriate and feel comfortable.

But even these basics are far from boring. The black clutch is made out of luxurious croc. The tweed coat is actually coated, giving it a shiny, leather-like appearance. The black boots are leather AND suede...it's like business in the front, party in the back. Buy these things now and wear them forever.

Does your closet need a revamp for fall? I'm excited to fill in some gaps in mine. You can expect to see me in that fabulous studded belt just about every day this fall...

Concept Board: Earthy Coastal Dining Room

Don't you feel like you could accomplish a lot in this dining room? I can see kids sitting down to do homework after school, friends gathered for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and a family enjoying turkey and all the fixins at Thanksgiving. Rooms pull double and triple duty these days. Modern families don't want to waste space and certainly are less formal than the days of old. We want to be surrounded by things that inspire us and that we will love for a long time.

Muted interiors are certainly an emerging trend in home decor. They are peaceful and instill a sense of calm but stray from boring by mixing interesting textures. Sure, an all white room is very tranquil but where is the personality? (And the stain resistance??)

If you wanted to take the aesthetics in this room to the next level, a few bronze punches could really make it fly. Think about setting your table with metallic bronze plates, chargers and bowls or choose a metal console shelf unit to use as a sideboard that displays your beautiful pieces.

It's one thing to see beautiful interiors on Pinterest and in magazines. It's quite another to live in them! A room like this one is sturdy and liveable while also being devastatingly handsome.

How do you use the dining room in your home? Do you need your rooms to pull double duty?

Red Carpet Roundup: 66th Annual Emmy Awards

There's nothing like a night on the Red Carpet to hoist a blog out of two months of darkness! You know an awards event could not pass without a S-F best dressed list so here we go!

Julia Roberts stunned in a short and studded Elie Saab. Her pick was unconventional and unpredictable but the lady has been killing it on the fashion scene lately. Here's hoping that America's Sweetheart keeps it up!

Janis Ian?! Is that you?? Lizzy Caplan WERKED the carpet in a dramatic DKNY number. Holy smokes, she blew me away! Her gown might be a little over the top but she was a best actress nominee for HBO's "Masters of Sex." Snaps to her for showing up like a nominee should.

The gals of "Modern Family" looked young and fresh. Julie Bowen brought back the 70s in Peter Som while Sarah Hyland was thoroughly 2014 (or 90s if you prefer) in Christian Siriano.

Finally, these ladies sparkled in silver. Hayden Panettiere was glowing in Lorena Sarbou. Kiernan Shipka was adorable in a vintage inspired Antonio Berardi number and Gwen Stefani did not disappoint in Versace. My youngest award winner, Shipka, also is the only actor who made my best dressed list at last year's Emmy's and this year's! Love that "Mad Men" girl's style!

There were so many beautiful people at the Emmy's last night but my favorites, as you can see, were those who appeared effortless and fun.

Were any of these women in your favorite looks? Who was your pick for best dressed?

PS- Who else could support Julia Roberts in a Julie Bowen-esque lob haircut?? Do it, Julia!!!
