It's official: Chanel announced today that "Gossip Girl" star and style icon Blake Lively will be new face of the Chanel Mademoiselle handbag ad campaign. Fashion god Karl Lagerfeld is said to have selected Lively because of her "fresh, youthful image and innate sense of style." We couldn't agree more!

We had to wonder what in the world the pair had up their sequined sleeve...er, leather glove (?) when they were spotted galavanting all over Paris together. She even managed to be among the in crowd at Vogue hitting numerous high-end fashion shows with Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington, et. al...The mag featured a spread about Lively spending time with Lagerfeld in their September issue, adding more fuel to the fashion fire.
She'll be joining the likes of Vanessa Paradis, Nicole Kidman and Keira Knightly, all former Chanel models.

Lively couldn't be a better fit for Chanel right now. She's certainly gained loads of attention for her fabulous fashions both on and off screen, and her list of acting credentials grows longer and longer. But while I love watching her on "Gossip Girl" or on the big screen, what I really look forward to is her choice in attire!
