Wednesday's Look for Less: Cat-Eye Sunnies

Sunglasses- just what the doctor ordered. They protect your delicate under-eye skin from the sun while also preventing damage to your cornea! (See, sometimes we style chicks have practical applications for life.) So why not make these medical miracles super stylish and go cat-eye this summer? I betcha can't guess which of these feline frames requires major cha-ching and which hardly costs a thing...

Meet the ASOS/Karen Walker sunglass challenge. On your right, the ASOS pair only rings up to $25! (How does that song go about "Cheap Sunglasses" again?) To your left, Karen Walker's are upwards of $200. Wipeout. I must say, though, I'm a firm believer that with shades, you get what you pay for and there is apparently no regulation on UV ray protection claims on lenses, which means any whackadoodle rand-o brand can say they are 200 million percent UV blocking when they might only prevent 2. 

So what's the moral of the story? If you're going to be out in the sun all day long, invest in a really great pair maybe even with polarized lenses. But if you just need a chic treat, save your pennies for the fab vintage-inspired swimsuit that your sunnies will be catcalling for.
