The Metropolitan Museum of Art played host to the high(est) fashion event of the year, the Costume Institute Gala. This year's special occasion payed tribute to the late and great Alexander McQueen with its "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" exhibit.

We spectators always look forward to the sartorial drama that comes with the annual Met Gala but this year promised to be especially spectacular. As we sadly lost the design house's namesake last year, A-listers and the fashion conscious were surely eager to honor his memory. Lest we forget, Sarah Burton took over as creative director at Alexander McQueen and recently debuted a VERY important princess's gown on Friday...

While I loved our dear princess bride and promise not to forget about her in my next post, I just had to offer my opinion on my best dressed/favorite looks of the night:

By no means do I intend to leave other perfectly gorgeous women off my list. It's just that, when it comes to the Met Gala, I want to see the unexpected and I want to see it done tastefully. These ladies brought the drama and the class. I love them for that and hope that their dear friend is smiling down on them and feeling the same way.
