The Bold and The Beautiful

DecorPad

Does anyone else suffer from compulsive redecorating disorder? If you don't, consider yourself lucky. It's an evil, mind-altering disease that convinces you major overhauls need to take place within your home when everything is just fine the way it is.

Take, for example, my latest plague, the chevron stripe. The chevron rugs from Jonathan Adler (pictured above) have been a long-time favorite of mine. Two large dogs with muddy paws have deterred me from purchasing said rug but now I torment myself by looking for alternative ways to use the pattern.

It all started with me considering the purchase of the West Elm Chevron Printed Window Panel for my third bedroom.

But then I saw this picture of a gorgeous chevron striped chair in one heck of a sweet space.

Chevron rugs are great...

But chevron floors are more durable against claws and mud...

There is the occasional chair...

But the pillows are just as sweet and maybe more versatile...

Or you can always simplify and go with a great plate...

Then I snapped out of my chevron haze to realize I already own several chevron striped beauties- this pillow...

And these chairs, which I recovered myself!

So maybe I have a little bit of a head start, but I still think there's a bit more room for chevrons in my future...

If you know of any compulsive redecorating support groups, please let me know.

  1. Did you see this chevron rug on Calypso. I love it in navy! http://www.calypsostbarth.com/Zig-Zag-Jaipuri-6x9-p-17301.html

And your dining room looks so beautiful. When can you come to Asheville and help me get your look!?

The Domino photo with the red ethnic prints combined with the chevron rug is basically my dream come true...

  2. YES! I love the Calypso rug and am seriously considering it in the jade color (or whatever that green is called) for my bedroom. Is it bad to have chevron in every room of my house??

I'll help you ANY time! Send me some pics!!!!

  3. I'm a total home redecorating addict. I've always got a room I'm redoing and one that I'm planning the redo of at the same time. My current favorite room is a new Great Room that we created by knocking the wall out between our kitchen and living room/ dining room. I'm in the finishing touches for that one while now planning my master bath redo. You have a kindred spirit here!
