Big Event!

In taking inventory of my own closet,  I've found that I need to cover my basics- particularly basics for the bottom. Pants, shorts, sneakers are all lacking from my wardrobe. Here's my own Big Event wish list...

Do you literally feel a twinge of pain every time you reach for your coat or pull on a wool sweater? This winter has lasted long enough, thank you very much! While we may still need to wear pants and boots to combat these frigid temps, there's no reason we can't start layering our new spring favorites underneath for a breath of fresh air. Some of my favorite pieces I've ever purchased were Resort or Pre-Fall pieces- those in-between season options can be some of the most wearable year round. Choose a classic color for your purchases between now and April and you'll be in business all year long...or at least til next winter. I shudder at the thought.

Tropicana Crazy

Tropical prints and patterns are nothing new. They have decorated the walls of the Beverly Hills Hotel and Greenbrier Resort for decades.

But the fashion world has launched them back into the forefront with full force this summer and I am 100% on board! The vintage, California cool appeal of the banana leaf print screams summer vacation to me. When you're stuck at work/busy with the kids/heading to summer school classes, the thought of a tropical trip feels very far away. However, slip on one of these pieces and you might just catch a hint of that salty ocean breeze...

Are you loving springtime suits these days? I don't know if my new adoration for coordinated pieces is because it's been a freezin' cold spring or because I'm about to hit 3-0 (27 days but whose counting?) but I can't get enough of the matchy-matchy two piece...and I ain't talkin' bikinis. (Thank goodness!)
