Miami Eye Candy

If you follow me on Instagram, then you're already well aware that I was recently in Miami for a little vaycay! The trip was an absolute blast but Miami is a real handful...a beautiful paradise of a handful but still quite a bit to take in over the course of just a few days. The real point of the trip was to spend a little q.t. with my sister who lives six hours away. The two of us work like dogs so much so that I only get to see her a few times a year. She and I had a great time exploring the city, catching some rays, eating delicious meals and getting one fabulous spa treatment! I won't bore you with the details but I will gladly share with you some eye candy.

My MAC Makeover

Upon an impromptu mall walking session with my beau, I took a detour to the MAC counter to check out the company's mineral make-up eye shadows. I not only fell in love with the Caribbean shade but maayyyybe a few other things as well. Oops!

This palette gives me a really lovely natural look. I think the burgundy and pale pink palette will transition perfectly into fall. Do you use any MAC products? What make-up looks are you digging for fall?

Nailed It.

Miami was an absolute blast and what was waiting for me when I got home but the new J.Crew catalogue!! The new fall arrivals blew me away, especially the sweaters. Are you a sucker for a good sweater like I am? I've already planned and outfit for one in particular...

I could live in this outfit every day. Couldn't you? It's down-to-earth with a little bit of glitz.

PS- pointed toe pumps are back with a vengeance and they look especially chic with straight leg jeans.

I'm also loving lots of other pieces at J.Crew including this leather-front top, the horsing around sweatshirt and these glittery slippers. J.Crew gone glam!

Oh but just wait- the best part is J.Crew has generously offered 25% off all orders over $150 PLUS free shipping with the code FALLSTYLE. Heck yeah! Now it's really on.

Rise of the Phoenix

I think I'm in love. This Phillip Lim tee looks one part concert tee and one part feminine blouse. Because of that awesome dichotomy, it would be so fun and versatile for fall. I would wear it with black waxed denim and a nubby tweed jacket or a gray leather jacket and worn-in jeans everywhere from my casual, artsy office to a fun night out. These grand plans are all Nina Garcia's fault. She wore a similar top on Project Runway and it sent me on the prowl...

It's also her fault I ended up with another Phillip Lim top two years ago...Nina, you're killin' me!

But I like it!

Miami!!!!

My sis and I are headed here this weekend! YAHOOOO!!! We never take trips like this together and we're so excited to be doing something adventurous. Bring on the rooftop pools, fake tans and drag queens!

This trip will be my first to Miami. Please tell me- what should I wear? Where should I go?

I plan to take tons of big jewels...

And lots of bright colors and patterns...

With a few sandals and wedges.

And I can't forget my shades!

Am I on the right track? Let me know if you have any favorite spots in Miami!

Getting Over The Hump

via Zazzle

Happy Hump Day, everyone! You may have noticed a serious lack of blogging here and for that I apologize. I have been siiiiiiiickie sick sick for way too long now and just before I head to Miami. For that reason, I've laid super low and just focused on getting better before Saturday. Today I hope to finally turn a corner and in honor of Wednesday being Hump Day, here are some of my favorite camels for fall!

Bring on fall!
