I want to offer apologies to all S-F readers. I am so sorry for not posting in days. This week has been insanity, giving a whole new meaning to March madness. A day in this hammock just might be my only cure.

Turban-tastic

Call me crazy, but I am loving a turban these days. Not a full-on, Middle Eastern turban but a respectable, chic headband/headwrap style. After all, I do have an afro-portion of hair and could certainly use a little assistance on frizzy hair days...practically speaking.

I think it all started when the Man Repeller started beating turbans into my unwrapped head this past winter. Then, I saw this upscale version at last weekend's fashion show by millinery company Forme.

We've seen cooky hats and turbans taking the editorial pages like mad this spring. Even"America's Next Top Model" featured fantastical headpieces last night. Millinery has gone mainstream and turbans are no exception.

On Monday, we shared with you Kate Middleton and royal wedding style rumors. Today, it's only appropriate that we present photos and details from one of the most fabulous events we've attended in a long time!

The pop-up shop at the aMuse Haute Hats Show

The aMuse Haute Hats Show took place on Saturday in downtown Wilmington. But to simply call these beautiful masterpieces "hats" almost does them a disservice. Each and every piece was an intricate, well-made, gorgeous work of art. aMuse showed us pieces that defied gravity, fascinators that flitted and fluttered with feathers and classic sunhats that even the most traditional belle would adore. These gorgeous styles would make even the princess-to-be swoon.

Owner and milliner-extraordinaire Jan Wutkowski presented styles to the theme of Springtime in Paris. Models wore hats of Jan's design as well as styles from Hats By Andre, Forme and Hats to Di For! Each piece was as beautiful as the next. We all had such a hard time selecting our favorites!

The audience nearly rivaled the models' style and beauty as we were all encouraged to wear hats and no one disappointed.

Ladies and gentlemen, if you haven't gotten into the whole wearing a hat thing, now is the time! Hats seem to be THE IT accessory for spring and we have an amazing selection right here in our own backyards. I cherish my hat from aMuse made by Forme and dream about passing it down to granddaughters one day. It will be so fun to share the memories of what I did and where I was when I wore it. After all, anytime you wear a hat, you definitely have a good time and feel special!

Royal Rumors

As the royal wedding swiftly approaches, many of the fashion-obsessed are just dying to know what (or rather, whom) Kate Middleton will wear as she walks down the aisle. Obviously, Middleton has quite the affliction for fabulous headwear, donning everything from wide-brimmed sunhats to fun and feathery fascinators. Surely her hat attire will not disappoint during her marital and royal formalities.

But Kate also has quite wonderful taste when it comes to her dress, and we are now hearing rumors that Middleton's wedding gown will be designed by uber-famed design house Alexander McQueen and its new head designer Sarah Burton. (McQueen- how appropriate for the princess-to-be!)

This won't be the first Burton design to grace a huge state event. First Lady Michelle Obama wore one of Burton's McQueen designs when Chinese leader Hu Jintao visited the U.S. in January.

I can't wait to see how it all turns out and if Burton is indeed the designer of choice. Either way, Middleton's sartorial future will surely be bright and very, very feathered...

Not that I have anywhere in the world that I could actually see myself wearing these, but don't you just love these shorts?

They are so boudoir-chic, don't you think? They look comfy and cute and boast a 5.5" inseam. Thank you, Anthropologie, for giving us an alternative to the booty short. They remind me so much of the 3.1 Phillip Lim sequined short from last season.
