Passing Notes

In this 21st century, handwritten letters have been replaced by emails and notes have turned into texts. But with a little zhushing in the desk department, personal notes are making a comeback! If you had pretty little desk accessories like these, wouldn't you be compelled to leave a clever little adage on someone's desk?

Something about school supplies still makes my heart go pitter patter. We may never write another letter to our pen pal again but we will certainly never stop jotting down notes. Just don't let your teacher catch you passing notes or you might have your ampersand paperclip taken away!

Musings

Has anyone else felt super ADD this week? I cannot concentrate at all! Even if I take a few minutes at work to do a little web surfing, I can't finish reading the article, writing the email or checking out whatever the heck it is I've checked out. I've even gone to write a blog post several time this week and ended up publishing one. What gives?

Maybe it's best if I just put some of my random musings onto one page and then get back at it! Here are some goodies that have been taking up space in my mind and quite possibly contributing to my lack of...what's the word...concentration.

Part of this problem could be attributed to the fact that I turn 30 on Monday. When people see the candles on my cake this year, they'll be like...

Hope you have a great weekend!

eBay Holiday Collective

If you shop anywhere at all in this day and age, you'll notice collaborations are alllll over the place. (Did you happen to catch "Revenge" last night? Those Neiman Marcus + Target secret gift ads totally distracted me from the actual show!)

At any rate, a(nother) holiday collaboration debuted today and I have to say I'm intrigued! The eBay Holiday Collective includes designs from Billy Reid, Jonathan Adler and Tibi, just to name a few. What's the best part? Everything's under $100! Take a gander, for yourself or for someone else...

Bonus alert: Jonathan Adler is offering 20% off online and in stores until the end of the day today. If you're a fan of his, like I am, you're sure to score some great finds either through eBay or on his site!

Happy holiday shopping!

It's All Greek To Me

via Jonathan Adler

If you've read my blog in the past, you may have seen my post about a dining room re-do.  I can report that nothing has happened, so far, except a bunch of brainstorming. Sigh...isn't that how all creative genius begins? Yes? Maybe?

In these brainstorms, sometimes, I think a semi-gloss navy wall paired these fine friends would do the trick:

How can you go wrong with a Scalamandre, Schumacher, Ben Moore equation? True, the old bank account would get hurt but the result is pure perfection.

Other times, I think a Greek key partially wallpapered wall would be subtly stylish- just applied from the chair rail to the ceiling. This pattern can be subtle in taupe and grey or bold in black or any of the 30 Ben Moore color wheel options they match. How fun is that idea?

And I'd be lying to you if I told you a lattice work wood didn't pop into my mind a time or two...maybe just on the ceiling, maybe just along the walls...

At this point, the decision remains up in the air. How do you feel about wallpaper in your house? Or textured appliques? Or dark, glossy paint? I have very little experience with it all, personally, but do appreciate a strategically placed pattern any day of the week!
